CameraCreativ recommends the Nikon D7500.
Our rating of the Canon EOS 200D
The EOS 200D (US: Rebel SL2) is the smallest DSLR in Canon's lineup and follows the EOS 100D (US: Rebel SL1) of 2013. Featuring a new battery for greatly improved stamina, the compact camera also gains Dual Pixel Autofocus (DPAF) for better autofocus when recording videos and in Live View mode. The APS-C sized sensor records 24 megapixel and captures video with up to 1920 x 1080 pixel (FullHD). The connector for an external microphone is a plus for videographers.
Our rating of the Nikon D7500
Nikon's D7500 is aimed at enthusiasts who are willing to trade some of the D500's more high end features for a significantly lower price. Tradeoffs include USB 2 instead of USB 3, no protection and seals against water and dust and lower continuous drive. On the plus side, the D7500 features a built-in flash which the D500 omits. Sensor, image processor and AF system are identical to the more expensive APS-C / DX sibling. With Boost the sensitivity maxes out at a whopping 1.640.000 ISO, a record value for a sensor this size. Other pros include the nice articulated touchscreen and the bright viewfinder with a magnification of 0.63x, a very good value for an APS-C /DX camera.
