Lexar today introduced the first ever 1 TB (Terabyte) SD card. The UHS-I card conforms to the U3 / V30 speed requirements and is fast enough to record 4K video. Assuming 10 MB for a 20 megapixel JPEG, the card will hold around 100.000 photos.
Lexar states an MSRP of around $500 but B&H and Adorama already offer the card at a discount for $400. A comparable SanDisk Extreme Pro (U3 / V30) retails for around $90, so the new card’s price is in line with current offers.
